JACKS Weekend
The UCC Canoe Club is delighted to announce that our legendary JACKS weekend will take place from the 4th to the 6th of November. We will be heading back up to Lahinch in County Clare for a weekend of mad craic and of course Kayaking.
The weekend will involve leaving Cork on Friday evening and coming back Sunday night. In years gone by it has been tradition to dress up on the Friday for the bus up. The theme of this years JACKS is S so I’d get thinking of those costumes ASAP! Orlaith, our secretary will be taking deposits of €25 from this Wednesday at the pool session. She will also be taking deposits at Friday sessions and every event leading up to the weekend. You are advised to come early so as you don’t miss out on what is going to be one of the highlights of the college year. If you don’t believe us ask Our ENTS rep. He missed out on this last year and still has nightmares over it!
We will have more details and an information night closer to the weekend. The most important thing though is to GET THOSE DEPOSITS IN EARLY!!!!!
If you haven’t yet been part of the club but would like to come to JACKS, it’s never to late to join and come along to a few of our sessions and get trained so you can head on this fantastic trip! We paddle on Wednesday nights in the pool from 10.30 to 11.30pm and on Fridays, meeting at the sheds to the left of the drive in entrance to the Mardyke at 2.15pm.
